There’s nothing like seeing your child’s face light up from the joy of “being in the saddle”. In fact our passion for horse riding started at an early age for us too! This program is designed to suit younger or very beginner riders who are not confident around horses, or would like to see if horse riding is for them.

For ages 3 - 10 years. Please note - you will not be guaranteed the same coach on these sessions, even if multiple sessions are booked.

What You'll Learn

Our introductory riding lessons are designed to build confidence while teaching the basics of horse care and riding.

Lessons May Include

• Grooming your horse
• Learning how to saddle your horse (depending on the rider's ability and the time available during the session)
• Basic riding skills on a trail, including:
• Steering
• Starting and stopping
• Riding at a walk

If You Book Multiple Sessions, You May Also Learn

• How to saddle your horse
• Catching and leading a horse safely
• Bareback riding (helmet provided, while being led at a walk)
• Safe feeding practices, including suitable foods such as grass, hay, and carrots

Important Information

• Minimum age: 3 years
• Maximum rider weight: 50 kg
• Prices: All prices include GST and the booking fee.

What to Bring

• Full-length stretchy pants
• Closed-in boots
• Water bottle

Helmets are provided for all riders.

Please note that we do have limited availability with our coaches so book ahead if you would like regular sessions. Sessions for each term will be posted prior to commencement of term.

Key Information . . .

1. If for any reason we need to cancel a session that you have booked, we will attempt to contact you at least 2 hours prior to the start time to advise that the lesson will not proceed. You will have the option to reschedule to another suitable time.
2. In general, we will do our best to accommodate cancellation requests from you understanding that things happen that are beyond our control. If you don’t give us at least 2 days notice, you will be charged a cancellation/rebooking fee of $15 to cover administrative overhead costs, bearing in mind that we may have previously had to turn away prospective bookings.
